Is auditing mandatory for all Hong Kong companies?

Yes, under the Hong Kong Companies Ordinance, every limited company incorporated in Hong Kong is required to have its annual financial statements audited by a Hong Kong Certified Public Accountant, regardless of whether the company conducted business in Hong Kong or overseas.

Can ATHENASIA help me apply for Offshore Tax Exemption?

Absolutely. Hong Kong operates on a territorial source principle of taxation. If your business operations, management, and revenue generation are entirely outside of Hong Kong, you may be eligible for a 0% tax rate. What is the deadline for filing the Profits Tax Return?

The IRD typically issues the first Profits Tax Return 18 months after the date of incorporation. You normally have 1 month to file it from the date of issue. For subsequent years, extensions are usually granted based on your company's chosen financial year-end date.

Do I have to use Xero for my company's accounting?

What is the standard financial year-end date in Hong Kong?

Unlike some jurisdictions, Hong Kong allows companies to choose their own financial year-end. However, December 31 and March 31 are the most common choices as they align with the government's tax assessment cycle and offer the best extensions for tax filing deadlines.
